{"id":2972,"date":"2013-01-17T02:54:40","date_gmt":"2013-01-17T02:54:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ft-agency.com\/wordpress\/?p=2972"},"modified":"2013-01-17T02:55:19","modified_gmt":"2013-01-17T02:55:19","slug":"creators-of-cloud-atlas-hope-to-win-over-china-premiere-20th-janbeijing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ft-agency.com\/wordpress\/creators-of-cloud-atlas-hope-to-win-over-china-premiere-20th-janbeijing\/","title":{"rendered":"<!--:en-->Creators of &#8216;Cloud Atlas&#8217; hope to win over China by attending Premiere 20th Jan,Beijing<!--:--><!--:cn-->Creators of &#8216;Cloud Atlas&#8217; hope to win over China <!--:-->"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--:en-->Three directors of the epic \u201cCloud Atlas\u201d announced they will attend the film\u2019s Chinese premiere in Beijing, hoping to get a more positive response with Chinese audiences as the film has so far bombed elsewhere.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCloud Atlas,\u201d a 2012 German sci-fi drama, was directed by Lana and Andy Wachowski, creators of \u201cThe Matrix\u201d trilogy, and Tom Tykwer, director of \u201cRun Lola Run.\u201d It is reported the three directors have sent invitations to the star-studded cast including Tom Hanks, Halle Berry and Hugh Grant, hoping to join forces with them at the Beijing premiere on Jan. 20.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s rare for three big directors to jointly direct one film. Due to their individually hectic schedules, they have only appeared together a handful of times for the film\u2019s promotion. But the Wachowski siblings have been paying attention to the Chinese market. \u201cChina is an extremely large market and has been obtaining more and more shares on the global market. \u2018Cloud Atlas\u2019 contains plenty of Chinese elements, so Chinese audiences are the people par excellence to examine their contents.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While Hollywood veterans like Tom Hanks and Halle Berry played multiple major roles in the film, Chinese actress Zhou Xun also took on three small parts in the film.<\/p>\n<p>The film premiered on September 9, 2012, at the 37th Toronto International Film Festival and was widely released on October 26, 2012.
