but he has nothing on this Chinese host who has appropriated every aspect of The Colbert Report for his new show, The Banquet. Last night, Colbert uncovered the show that is not only “inspired” by his show, but in “flagrant violation of intellectual property rights.”

From the music to the graphics to Colbert’s “awesome Iron Man landing,” The Banquet’s opening credits are a near perfect knockoff of the original. Beyond that, it’s not so clear what the two shows have in common.
“I’ve been ripped off by the Chinese!” Colbert exclaimed after watching the intro, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t “loving” it. “Only the biggest hits get Chinese bootlegs,” he explained.

But if he really wants to solidify his toehold with the Chinese audience, Colbert said he needs to go there himself. “The Banquet, I demand you invite me to China to appear on your show.” It’s the least they could do after stealing his entire concept for all it’s worth.
