“The Fast and the Furious” film franchise will reach its peak in the sixth installment to be screened in May around the world, the film’s director said in Beijing on Monday, January 7, 2013.

“Fast Six” will take the audience onto a brand-new journey, Justin Lin told reporters in an interview.

“I am so lucky to have opportunities to upgrade and rebuild the Fast stories, into which I have brought more humanistic and global concerns,” the Chinese-American director said.

Since 2001, the street racing action film franchise has attracted a large number of fans worldwide.

Lin took over shooting the third installment of the series – “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift” – in 2006, when he was 33 years old.
